Digital artist: Rafael Rozendaal
Rafael is a Dutch online artist whose newrafael.com site offers a showcase of his playful and highly abstract interctive work.
“My subjects range from clouds to blood, from hands to farts, from hills to dollars, from doors to fire“ he explains. Each of his sites is a single scene set-piece, from the multi-coloured melting lovers in “Much better than this“ to the interactive pudding in “Jellotime“.
His work has a very strongly defined aesthetic - almost simplistic in its approach but executed with a sharp intelligence and more than a hint of wit.
“I always loved the internet,” Rafael explains. “You can do anything you want and the whole world can see it. I still don’t think there’s anything this free…”
